Boarding straight onto the joists squashes the insulation and stops it working. We raise the floor so the full depth of insulation sits underneath.

How much insulation should my loft have?
The recommended depth for mineral wool is 270mm. Many older lofts have 100mm or less. We will measure what is there and tell you.
Can I board my loft without losing the insulation?
Yes. We fit a raised floor so the boards sit above the insulation instead of crushing it.
Is this a loft conversion?
No. This is insulation and storage boarding, which does not need planning permission. A full conversion to a habitable room is a much bigger job.
